Privacy Policy

Pareyar ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal budget and expense tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name (username) you enter during onboarding. We do not collect your phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any government-issued ID.

Financial Data

We store the financial data you enter into the app:

• Transaction records (amount, type, category, date, note)
• Budget limits you set per category
• Recurring transaction templates
• App preferences (language, currency, theme)

This data is created entirely by you. We do not import data from your bank or any external financial institution.

Crash and Error Data

If the app crashes or encounters an error, diagnostic information (device model, OS version, app version, stack trace, and your account ID) is collected by Sentry to help us fix bugs. This does not include your financial data, email address, name, or any personal content. See Section 4 for details on Sentry as a data processor.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide the app's features:

• Email address — to authenticate your account and send transactional emails (email confirmation, password reset). We do not send marketing emails.
• Display name — to greet you on the home screen and personalize the app.
• Financial data — to sync your data across your devices (for organization accounts) and restore it if you reinstall the app. Your data is only visible to you.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in Section 4.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in two places:

• On your device — in a local SQLite database. The app works fully offline. For free accounts, this is the only place your financial data is stored.
• In the cloud — for organization accounts only, on servers provided by Supabase, Inc. (our backend provider). Supabase stores data on AWS infrastructure. See Supabase's Privacy Policy for details.

Your cloud data is protected by Row Level Security — only your account can read or write your records. We cannot read your financial data even as administrators.

4. Third Parties

We share data with the following service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the app:

We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from the Settings screen, all your data (cloud and account record) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

If you use the app without an account, your data lives only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — all your data is visible inside the app.
• Export your data — organization account holders can export to CSV from the Settings screen. Other users can contact us for a copy.
• Delete your data — delete your account from the Settings screen, or contact us.
• Correct your data — edit or delete any record directly in the app.

7. Children

Pareyar is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

This policy applies to the Pareyar iOS and Android apps and any associated cloud services.
